Behind the Scenes at the 2017 Language of Flowers Collection Photo Shoot

The photo shoot for the Edera 2017 Language of Flowers Collection was earlier this week, and I am so excited to unveil both the new designs and the look book images later this month! I thought I'd share a behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoot and the collection's inspiration.

The name and theme of this collection was inspired by the symbolic meanings Victorians assigned to flowers. It was popular during that time period to send coded messages by exchanging flower arrangements. Whole dictionaries were written on the subject, containing entries for everything from azaleas (which meant "passion") to zinnias ("lasting affection"). This collection is full of floral-inspired designs.

The Lilac Inn in Brandon, VT, a Georgian Revival-style mansion with lush gardens, provided the romantic backdrop for the images. I was lucky to work with the talented wedding photographer Ashley Largesse again on this photo shoot--she took the beautiful photos of last year's Aquarelle Collection.

Jennifer Perellie Makeup created the prettiest, "English Rose" inspired makeup look for the model, while Lori of Studio 210 Salon in Bennington, VT created the soft, romantic hair styles.  The delicate bouquets and greenery were designed by Jayson Munn Design. The new collection was paired with flowing gowns from Celia Grace and fluttering veils by Kata Banko Couture.

I'll be posting updates on the launch of the Language of Flowers Collection on my Instagram account. Follow me at @EderaJewelry!
